Kids Room Window Treatments & Design Ideas

February 22, 2013 By

Think about growing up and recall all the memories of your childhood – from the family pets, friends, vacations, to even the favorite toys. While some things have surely faded into the abyss of the mind, one common thing most can recall about growing up is their bedroom. A child’s bedroom truly serves as their safe haven – a place where they are free to imagine and discover their own unique world. Having an adequately designed children’s bedroom is an important attribute in a child’s growth and development.

Once you establish the theme and color concept for the bedroom, it’s time to get down to business. One of the most effective design approaches is to pick multiple hues and use them throughout the room – from kids room window treatments down to the furniture and flooring. Custom window treatments for kids rooms allow you to integrate those fabrics in multiple elements of the room. Reupholster a chair with the same fabric of the kids room window treatments, add a few complementary pillows to the bed, create a comforter out of similar accent materials or even make a new bench or window seat. It’s also a great idea to refurbish pieces of furniture with a fresh coat of paint, some decorative drawer pulls, or custom upholstery. By using one focal aspect, like the window treatments for kids rooms, you’ll be able to create an entirely new design by repurposing and customizing furniture and curtains. Whatever you choose to do for the design of your child’s room, keep functionality and safety in mind!
